Settings
Settings for CRMs and email platforms
- Encoding: UTF-8 for Mailchimp, HubSpot, Salesforce, Shopify and most others; it keeps names like José and Zoë correct.
- Zip codes and phones: keep Numbers: As shown in Excel so 02134 and (555) 123-4567 survive.
- Separator: comma, unless the platform asks for semicolons.
- Duplicates and blanks: run the CSV through Remove duplicates and Clean CSV before importing.

Questions
Why do zip codes lose their first zero?
Because the stored value is a number. This converter writes it as Excel shows it, so 02134 stays 02134. If the zeros vanish after you reopen the CSV in Excel, import the column as Text.
Which encoding do CRMs want?
UTF-8 in almost every case. Use UTF-8 with BOM only if the CSV will be opened in Excel by double-clicking.
Is my customer list uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser and works offline once the page has loaded.
Can I clean the list too?
Yes. After converting, use Remove duplicates and Clean CSV on this site, also without uploading anything.
