How it works
How to open a large CSV file
Drop the file
Any size. It is indexed in 8 MB pieces, so even a 5 GB file does not fill your memory.
Browse and search
Page through 100 rows at a time, jump to any row number, or filter by text in one column or all of them.
Save what you need
Download the matching rows, or a range like rows 1 to 1,000,000, as a CSV that Excel can open.

FAQ
Questions
How do I open a CSV file that is too large for Excel?
Drop it on the viewer above. It opens files with any number of rows. To work on the data in Excel, filter it first or save a range of up to 1,048,576 rows.
Why does Excel say "file not loaded completely"?
Excel can show at most 1,048,576 rows and 16,384 columns. Anything past that is cut off. The rest of your data is still in the file; this viewer shows all of it.
What is the largest CSV file I can open?
Files of several gigabytes work. The file is never loaded at once; only a small index of where rows start is kept in memory (about 8 bytes per row).
Can I edit a large CSV here?
This viewer is read-only so it stays fast. Filter or save the rows you need, then edit them in the CSV editor or Excel.
Does it work with semicolon or tab separated files?
Yes. The separator is detected automatically, or you can choose it.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser, so your data never leaves your computer. It works offline once the page has loaded.
